AOP believes that by offering financial management and case management to currently and formally homeless individuals, we can prevent future episodes of homelessness. Each client is taught budgeting skills, building good credit, and saving for the future while ensuring that all of their expenses are paid on time in a consistent manner.

AOP also offers financial assistance to those who need money for rent, deposits, or utilities. Many people find themselves homeless because they are no longer able to pay rent and face evictions. Other people may lose their housing due to an increase in rent or the building is no longer habitable and they cannot afford to pay the deposit for a new place to live. Finally, due to the increase cost of utilities, there are an increasing number of individuals who are homeless and cannot move into housing until their utility bill, which they cannot afford, is paid off. AOP strives to prevent these situations from contributing to the cause of an individual’s homelessness. The financial assistance is offered only once in an individual’s lifetime because of the limited funds and number of people in need.
