LeCesne, or Abdul as he is known, was referred to AOP’s “Lighthouse Project” in March of 2009 from First Step. LeCesne was the first client that AOP housed in their “Lighthouse Project” permanent housing. LeCesne had been homeless for over five years and had been staying at the Task Force for the Homeless shelter for over three years. He recently had been provided with transitional housing and other services by Positive Outlook Foundation where he originally was connected with First Step for benefits assistance. LeCesne had initially been denied his benefits by Social Security but First Step was able to appeal the decision and within 120 days he was approved.
LeCesne has been a model client and has volunteered to help AOP with moving, cleaning and many other tasks. We recently assisted him and another AOP client with moving into a very nice home in Decatur GA. LeCesne and his roommate both have pets (a dog and a cat) and you can pass by and see them all sitting comfortably on their front porch enjoying their new home.
